Ok Adam.

I'll give you that $130 bucks you wanted for it. :smiley_crocodile:

Nice! It was a challenging but simple fix. In the end you learned something.

LOL, appreciate the offer Ben. Let me know if you are for real, pickup only :)

What I learned is I still hate electricity. If it has a engine, cranks, and has gears, I can fix it. Electric added, I'm done for....

They are running some killer deals on bothe 3100w and 1600w inverters right now! Trying to convince the wife its a smart investment but she's not buying it lol. I think having 2 of the 1600w/2000w max is ideal because it gives you options when not needing to run TT A/C's. The only thing that I get hung up on is the 1gal tank. No fun getting out of bed at 4/5am to refuel after a night of partying.

Ever since I got the replacement AVR, I have not been able to use the Progressive electric protector due to high voltage. I decided to tackle it today and found she was running between 133-135v, much too high.

A little bit of research revealed the AVRs have a small jewelers scew on the back next to the capacitor to adjust voltage. It took about 40mins of time hooking up various loads (500w work lights, air compressor, etc.) to zero it in. Got it to hang out between 118-125 between no load and full loads. Tweaked the frequency up to 61Hz and we are back in business.

Back of AVR showing small screw.

You will have to work the numbers, will you get enough out of the 2 1600 units to start the ac? My 2400 yam sometimes will have to take a second go at it, if the capacitor is empty and rusty. Thus the need for Honda guys to need two 2k units to get 3k to run.
Although, some days I wish I had two smaller units as to the 2400. For convenience like you said.

If there fuel system is like a Honda it's an easy and cheap fix for the lack of fuel capacity. That is the one downside to my Yamaha, up until about a year ago the was no extended run time option, due to being gravity feed. And the kit they have now is pricey.

They are 2k max, 1.6k continuous so I would only be 300w less than current. Thinking of getting one this season then another this summer or into fall/winter. Really need to focus on getting a transfer switch installed for the house or something like Kevin installed.

This is a weekend where around 50-75hrs would be put on the Champions at BG tractor pulls, but Rona is a bitch.

Instead they all got a once over and some run time with diagnostics to ensure theyll be good for winter.

The contractor style is going on 11yrs old and countless hours. The inverter models have 173-183hrs. Would still recommend for entry level/reliable products & service.

Text 5cent earlier. Didn't want to put any bad mojo on his sale if he unloads these. I've had some Champion generator issues too. BUT it is the dual fuel invertor version. Two years old. First carb lasted less than a year. Customer service fantastic. That lasted about a year. Generator doing the same thing. Only runs on LP. Not gasoline. I have only run non-ethanol gas and run it regularly. This time customer service rep was a different guy. Burr up his butt. Complete a-hole I could barely understand. I believe he was from the Canadian call center. Told me it was gummed up. Over the phone he can know this? BS. Sent the parts out. Haven't seen them yet. Invoice attached. I'm not pleased.

Parts did show up Tues or Wed. Haven't had a chance to swap the carb yet. Should be a warranty thing but I can swap the carb quicker than I can drop it off at a warranty center. lol

Swapped carb tonight. A-hole customer service rep said carb was gummed up. Swapped carb. Fired up. Idled down on economy mode both on gas or propane. Functioned as intended. Decided to pull apart old carb to see where it was "gummed up." Here is what I found. . . . It is very difficult to take cell phone pics of carburetors. Bottom of the bowl. Clean. All jets. Clean. Butterfly. Clean and functioned perfectly. Choke. Operated as intended. Maybe the box will explain their issue. Chinese carbs they are putting on them. I suspect they got a bad batch. 2 years later still using them.

I'm about to burn up a Home Depot coupon on one of these. This gives me pause 🤔 Already sold my Generac and can't stomach a Honda. I did look at the Generac inverter series, but they're proud of them and you might as well buy a Honda for the $.

Check for authorized warranty centers first. That said, I might be the only guy having issues. They do out out lemons on occasion. When it works as intended I am more than happy with it.

Here are options: $800 Predator. $1200 Champion. $3000 Honda. $5000 and JohnR will sell you his 15yr old Yamaha. Lol
