now if this year I got my license and I want buy the life time one. What happen interesting article for all of us

So it creates a one time increase of $800,000...then what? Increase the cost of tags to make up for the money lost for the future. What ever happened to increasing NR fees to match other states? Couldn’t pass it, so they found another way...thanks again ODNR!

We have LTHL here and it covers everything but a federal duck stamp. It’s one of the best investments I’ve made concerning hunting license. Ours is $500 if over 15, $300 5-15 years old and 4 and under is $200.

I guess the thought process is get money now and invest or gamble that no one buys all the licenses every year. They lost big money with me and my family.

Do the math, it it works in your favor I’d suggest buying it.

Edit our $500 license is a combo. All fishing and all hunting. It’s $300 if you just want either one.

I was thinking the same damn thing.. I’ve never seen the ODNR have a year where they didn’t come out in the red.

They are going to run through this money, like Charlie Sheen at a Coke house/ brothel.. So you know the prices of deer tags are going to go up. Also more than likely high powered riffles will be allowed.

Pretty much anything they can do to make a buck.. I’m getting my son a lifetime license. Its a great thing.

What worries me is the condition the state is in now. Not as many license being sold and tags.. Even when you were allowed 6 deer a year the state still came out in the red.. Will this also make the deer bag limits go up?

This will be interesting to follow.. Let’s just say I definitely have my concerns..

None of it is refundable. You buy a five year/you can’t say can I add that to a lifetime. It’s a one shot deal.

How you gonna get him to pass the hunters safety coarse? Because I’d love to gift this to kids!

Most places you have to start buying your license at age 16. Here when you get a ss number you can purchase your lifetime. No you won’t get your “card” but won’t need it anyway at a young age. Here after you turn the age of 10 your hunter safety class is permanent.

I called this morning, they will be given an apprenticeship liscense till they take the Ohio hunting safety course. It then transfers over. They are set for life. For their hunting license.

Doesn’t matter if your kid is 1 year old you buy it they got it. The apprentice license doesn’t run out...

Awesome! “On the tenth day of Christmas my fat dad gave to me...a lifetime of hunting memories”

One big problem that I see is if the kid moves to another state. I have a lifetime license for Mississippi that was given to me as a kid. I haven't lived there for 20 years but if I go back to hunt my lifetime license is still valid. If Ohio's was the same way I may consider buying two for my boys before we move later. That way if they ever want to hunt in OH they wouldn't need to buy NR licenses.

Is that how it works here? I’d ask before spending the coin. My lifetime Alaska lisence is only valid with a Alaska residence. It went void when I left, so now I have to purchase NR everything.

According to what I read the license is valid in Ohio even if you move. Even if you buy the 10 year it is good for 10 years no matter where you reside. That is why I think I am going to go ahead and do it. It also is hunting or fishing.
