Change coming to Ohio life time license

Or tell me you’re wanting to purchase more land and the state is trying to create cash to do so. To have me throw my money into a hat isn’t my kind of thing. Last time I heard the convenience talk, we got telacheck. I’d rather have the old system.

No one is forcing my hand today, but in the future as a result of this. It might, so my bitching is what I can do about it today. Bitching raising awareness.

Add deer and turkey tags to the equation and I would be one of the first people to buy a lifetime license. As it is set up now..i wont even consider it. Better yet...offer the option of a lifetime fishing license with all of the hunting licenses..and call it a comprehensive hunting and fishing lifetime license..and I am betting they would sell like crazy.

Even ours that includes tags isn’t much of a convenience since I still have to go and get hip certified and pick up tags. The hook to getting the LTL was, there not going to go down, they don’t go by bought date so you can buy a fishing license in June and it expires June 30. Hunting licenses goes through first of may no matter when it’s bought. For younger people I’d suggest jumping on the opportunity train. If your mid ranged age do the math. If your on the back end it’s a simple no. Gather all the facts and make an informed decision for yourself and family, everyone’s situation is different. Just my two pennies worth.

Convenience was definitely not the appropriate hook for this pitch.

Nor is the whole land buy thing. The last time 26 million in sportsmen's dollars were spent to buy land it was named Jesse Owens state park. You'll need to search high an low to find any mention that hunting / fishing / and watercraft proceeds paid for it. Having worked for a non-profit you understand that while the benefit to Sportsmen remain the same, soliciting donations for a worthy cause always comes with the promise of self promotion.

I think it’s a good buy for sportsman, just gonna bite us as prices increase. Sure, they will increase either way, but i see this making them jump even higher. Seems like a quick fix for money until they find a way to get the increases approved. My experiences with quick fixes aren’t good. Save your foil hat Jim...it isn’t time yet. 😂

Everyone's situation is different. For me it may be a smart idea to bite the bullet. Plans are for us to relocate in about 12 years. After that it would save me a lot of money on NR fees. Haven't decided yet but if it included fishing it would be a no brainier.

So everyone should just shut-up and not discuss their opinion of it because YOU think it makes sense and has incentives? And if anyone dare share their opinion they're just bitching complainers? come on now..

Lord have mercy. Sigh. Every new member gets that PM to let them know there is a forum that only members with less than 100 posts can post in. This gives them a place to dip their toe in without posting on the full open forum. They are not prohibited from posting elsewhere on the forum as evident by you posting here.
