I just bought one from a friend. It came with a cheap red dot and I didn’t think anything about it. When he dropped it off I was surprised to see it didn’t have any sort of front or rear iron sights, not even a space that was notched out for one. I thought about swapping barrels but I’m not even liking the plastic stock. Come to think about it….why TF did I even buy it?!

Mine have all been shooters, but I've definitely had fun tweaking them alsoSo you can spend a couple grand on upgrades to make it a decent shooting .22

If it's a threaded barrel, order a suppressor and you're off to the squirrel races. The feds are processing requests much faster than they used to, and every guy should have a suppressor weapon for hunting and zombies.
So I was very happy when I screwed my suppressor on my new barrel and the iron sights were above the suppressor and I found I could shoot with the iron sights, not having to put a scope on.
I was unhappy when I stopped at the range before work, ran a target out to 25 yds, and couldn't see shit with my aging eyes.
Will be mounting a scope tonite.

Make sure it's a rimfire or has an adjustable focus. I like the vortex diamondback on my ruger 10/22

Easily shoots ragged holes at 25 yards, and I can do dime size groups at 100 yards.
My CZ can barely outshoot it but I really have to do my part to do so.
I have another more stock 10/22 set up like a liberty training rifle.
