Changing opening day!

because I've arranged my life and priorities around hunting for the last 30 years. I do what I have to do so I can hunt as much as I want to. I hate hunting on weekends with all the weekend warriors. being the selfish prick that I am, I prefer to have the woods to myself. that is much easier for me now that I have my own place. more importantly, Bowkills, I'm a bow and arrow hunter first and foremost, so I don't want to give up two more, often very productive, days of archery hunting so a few people can gun hunt more. I've seen 50 deer from stand in the last two mornings.
I'd be fine ending gun hunting Ohio whitetails all together but I also like killing them with firearms if that's what's going on. I envy your schedule and am striving to get there.

This place ain't archerytalk. There's a lot of guys on here that love to gun hunt including me, just like we love to bow hunt. Leave things the way they are, no need to change what works.

I’d be fine with it staying the same as it has been. I didn’t grow up with the big excitement of the gun seasons. I’d rather shoot one with a bow under 20 yards. I’m part of the shift in hunting I guess.

For me, all it adds is new boot prints I haven’t seen all season and extra challenges the remainder of the season. I hope this doesn’t come off as snobbish. After all, I’ll be out there tomorrow morning with my muzzleloader!
