Michael and I were just talking about this thread. I guess for me boils down to this: if you ain't changing tactics, you ain't hunting. You are waiting...

I don't know if I agree. Some guys are hunting super aggressive from day one (Dan Infalt comes to mind) and killing studs every year. Same tactics, different bucks, different locations. I think if you're already hunting transitions, travel routes from good bedding to food, etc... there isn't much reason to do more than tweak tactics throughout the year. Hunt doe bedding instead of known buck beds during the rut, stuff like that. Now if you're sitting on field edges every set-up, I agree. There would come a time to start mixing it up a good bit. Just my opinion and I'm still learning so take it for what it's worth.

I will agree with that. I was thinking about a single property. Many folks drive deer and that's the only tactic they use year after year.

Yea, definitely. I also know some guys that put up a stand on a field and sit in it every time they go out all year long and wonder why they never have deer in range.

Yea, Dan is a killer. The guy's getting it done on high pressure public land year in and year out, not pushing products down your throat, and genuinely wants to teach other people.
