Chest packs

Well after searching, I’m undecided on a way to carry my firearm. Let me give you what I intend on wearing. I will be wearing uninsulated waders. It does have a belt. I do think I need a bino harness and good chance I will be wearing a rain jacket since it rains 300 days out of 365. So maybe carry on belt w jacket covering my pistol, or w binos over jacket or get a plate to mount behind or under bino harness?

I’m not a gadget type guy and like minimal the best. I also know I need to be somewhere in between the 2. Fucking rabbit hole I’ve fell into

I used to sell the shit out of military gortex and Alice pack frames to hunters. 907Surplus is all over Alaska. I sold the place 13 years ago so I have no clue what prices are now, but it is an option. I would suggest ebay or garage sales. Both can be had cheap and dont weigh much. Built for abuse and that is what an alaskan moose hunt is, abuse.

I’m on my 3rd harness and have no reason to change. Absolutely love my Marsupial Gear enclosed harness. Enough to hold my release, pouch for range finder, license/tags, mouth call and milkweed. Comfortable, easy open and close. You can kinda see my rig in the pic.

Had an FHF prior and it was decent, didn’t love the way it opened and closed and the material was a little noisier.

Prior to that I had the basic Vortex one and it did what I needed it to do, but anything is an upgrade from it.
