Anyone into picking these? Someone turned me on to them last year and they were superb. I've read and been told they grow late summer and early fall, but I know where there is a nice one now...actually 2 weeks ago. I'm 99% sure it's Chicken of the Woods.......right? Can they grow in spring?

Chicken are ok . I really like hen of the woods tho. Even more so than morels I think
That makes two of us. I grew up eating shitload of Morels from our yearly trips to Northern Michigan, but I like the Hens even more so. I've got a good buddy who is as passionate about finding the Hens and Chickens as most of us are about deer hunting. He gives me quite a bit every year. And yes, you can get Chickens Spring through early fall

I found some in June last year, but I hadn't been looking any earlier. one of my favorites to eat, and has considerable medicinal value, too.
