I am not a big fan of these unless it interest me. If it grabs my attention, I am in. Kinda like watching nascar anymore. It's on while I get other shit done that needs doing. But every once in a while a race grabs all my attention. Or at least parts of it does.

I walk 5-12 miles a day when looking for sheds but it’s typically on one farm or two in same area not in a straight line. Lmao
I’m sure several other people have photos and video of that deer but just would rather stay out of the legal mess for whatever reasons.
I also don’t buy his excuse for not taking pictures after first walking upon what he and his accomplice er… buddy thought was the largest deer they have ever seen and that it had to be a state or world record. Adrenaline/overly excited…….pfffft, ……..

I’m fairly certain the prosecutor will not be taking this man’s advice.
People are gonna shit when the same night pics come out😂. He ain't messing with people angry on the internet, those people have already showed their cards. Dealing with people that know the legal system and how to use it. Gotta build a firewall case with all the eyes on this one. The best way to do that IMO is to not let them know what you have. A same night picture from the property 10.3 miles away would sure make alot of naysayers clam up.

Anyone know off hand what date that buck was killed? Thought it was early November. Bucks do some crazy things when the rut starts including travel. The buck we called Pointdexter made an annual trip west of us by a couple miles the end of October every year, the buck I killed named Pete was apparently well known far south of our place as well. Both would completely disappear from our place and eventually return late season. Here one day, gone the next.

I just want to know how he went in there and killed this deer? I've talked to guys that know him and say he knows very little about anything let alone killing a mature animal with archery equipment. Did not even own his own weapon or stand. How lucky or unlucky could this dude be? 😂
This dude pretended to know very little about deer yet he knows every big deer ever shot and how the scoring system works to a T…. I believe his pretend ignorance is part of his cover. “I’m just an idiot that got lucky” That is a partly accurate statement. He’s an idiot for thinking he knew enough to cover every track.

I have a feeling a lot a lot of people (including guys on this forum) have inside information and have a pretty good idea on what is going to happen. They are just waiting patiently.
I don’t KNOW squat. I do however believe the DoW law enforcement folks would not be wasting their time if this deer had taken a long walk to find this poacher sitting on an 8 acre tract of land owned by his sister.

I honestly believe that some people just want this to be true. All to often big deer are taken illegally. Many we hear about but I'm sure more of them we don't. People naturally want to believe a person and story. Unfortunately, this isn't going to end with a feel good story. It will be another black eye for big buck hunters. Antlers are today's gold rush. With that brings all walks of life. Pushing the guys that do it for themselves to go dormant and the idiots to the surface. I'm all for supporting people to hunt they way they want but these poachers are not hunters. They are only here for the trophy. Zero respect for other people or the game. This is not a guy down on luck that just got lucky. This is another POS that did a POS thing. He got his fame, I hope they take his fortune. Put him under the jail.

Interesting. I read the article. Said investigations by government entities. I'm curious if they are still investigating and the civil trial is from locals who were hunting the deer? Wouldn't that be an interesting direction for future incidents?

Unless I overlooked it, I didn't see where it specified who the other party in the civil trial is. Bigger than small claims court for sure.

All this because he didn’t have written permission on his sister’s property? Is he in the court jurisdiction that the DA who was complaining about this? If so wouldn’t a conflict of interest come into play?
Looking forward to see how this plays out.
