College Football Thread

Let's be a little realistic here and give the Bobcats some credit. These aren't the same Bobcats I watched in college, lucky to win 3-4 games and struggling at home with 1-AA opponents. They have won 31 games in the last three years, and this year probably should have won at Rutgers (Big Ten team) and did beat WVU (Big 12). They also beat Iowa St from the Big 12 a couple years back in Athens. They do not have the horses to beat Ohio State, but I did expect them to keep it close to the spread or get just under it. They aren't Grambling, who had to go to OT to beat Kentucky St on Saturday. Raise your hand if you just found out there's a school called Kentucky St. 🙋‍♂️ The MAC has some shit teams, but Ohio isn't one of them.

The Buckeyes will be just fine. My expectation for them is that they will continue to get better and better as the year goes on and Sayin gets more and more experience. The D is nasty and if Sayin can avoid the major mistakes to keep the offense efficient, they're a playoff team with a chance to go back-to-back.

Was watching a little ball earlier. Sitting down to watch some more now.

Maryland was putting it to Wisconsin earlier and it looks like they won decisively. UM seemed okay the little bit I watched them but not dominating. Final score says they were in a close game. Be interesting to see the highlights on that one.

Haven't seen any major surprises in the box scores. Utah lost. ND played Purdue. I've heard hype about an improved Purdue. ND beat them. ND needed that.

Indiana is stomping Illinois at the half. Dominating them.

Clemson loses another?

Arch Manning warned for taunting after flexing over an 0-3 Sam Houston player in the end zone. Where was that swagger in week one? 🤣

I think the only true surprise to me (and there were a LOT of dominating wins today), was the fashion in which Indiana dismantled Illinois. Either: 1) neither of them is great but Indiana brought it today, 2) Indiana is much better than anticipated, or 3) Illinois was clearly over ranked and hyped up more than they should have been. I suppose a combination of these is also possible.
