He doesn't make that call, the AD and most likely school president made the call to skip the bowl. He's a natural competitor, I'm certain he'd rather play
I would tend to agree. How does it look to his players if he sits back quietly though? Got to be a tough spot for him. If he chose to leave because of it. . . .talk about a recruiting tool. "I WILL go to bat for my players. Even if it cost me my job."

And the players can all hit the transfer portal now... the implications of a HC leaving and star players transferring to other contender schools would be a devastating consequence of an administrative temper tantrum.

Agreed and this is where my brain is. How dedicated is he to the program, because he could really gain from this. He is a good coach and the ripple effect would ve awesome to watch. FAFO
