Ohio State number two? Here is how I would have written it up: The Buckeyes have a solid team returning and picked up very impressive transfers. Knowing they are OSU, they will not be able to handle all the talent. Chip Kelly is a fine addition as OC, buy won't be enough. Buckeyes are a number one team. As a fan you should expect to play for 3rd place in the playoff games.
I would put us @5 behind Michigan and Alabama. Ole miss also finished stupid strong. Then you have them damn ducks. I think we fit in the mix with them. Any of those 3 teams could fill the number 5 spot.

Guess it is time to wake up this thread. Week two. For the team up north, it appears to be Weak 2. In all fairness, Texas is no slouch.

I thought Penn State was going to be a challenge this year. Just turned on the game. 8 min left in the fourth quarter. Up 27-24 over Bowling Green. Should we be talking about BG or PSU? Hats off to BG for being in the driver's seat midway thru the fourth.

Looking forward to seeing more college football. Feeling like football/hunting season weather today.

I'm not saying anything. It's a long season. Can happen to any team any week. Sorry Dustin.

Sorry about UM Mike.

Anyone else see the numbers Kyle McCord out up for Syracuse? Watching a replay now. His accuracy was impressive against a 23rd ranked Ga Tech. Sounds like the new head coach at Syracuse did well recruiting. That doesn't hurt.

Iowa lost.

Colorado/Nebraska hype didn't live up unless you were a Corn husker fan. I've seen no highlights but that score showed a butt whooping. Embarrassing for Colorado.

Interesting weekend. Blow outs. Upsets. And quite a few games where I look at the score and wonder how it happened. It was a great weekend of football if you are a fan of the Mac

I’ve been silently watching and seeing KM’s numbers o’er dare at Syracuse and so far he’s played great but season is long and he’s not faced a great D yet, IMO
Just looked at their schedule 😳my goodness! Only bump in the road is BC or UM in their last game, and who knows how really good those two teams are or any team at this point. We won’t know just how good OSU is till they face adversity or played half their schedule.

Very true @finelyshedded . He was okay at OSU when he had zero pressure. I sort of feel like you could toss him a play book and he could fill the role at many colleges within a week or two. I just don't think he delivers the "wow factor" unless he is in a smaller school setting with lower competition.

I will say in his defense even though I was definitely NOT a fan of him, I felt his QB coach was crap and probably not helping him at all in development and technique and Day calling shit plays. Kyle lacked passion and was too ho hum and didn’t have any ounce of leadership capability IMO.
Maybe his HC and position coach are doing a much better job elevating his weaknesses.👍🏻

I’ve been watching.

Big 10 teams that usually are good/decent squads look terrible. Talent gap? Coaching? Attitude? Culture? All the above?

TN and Bama then Ga look to be top 3 in that conference but only GA played a decent team so far on their turf and got out barely with a W.
Neither of the Florida teams look up to snuff.

U❌ and Washington both lost key players and many 4-6 year players and it shows.

OSU “shouldn’t”be tested till Oregon game. Having a bye week so early and just two weak opponents to study film with isn’t the best of situations but they definitely have talent to coach. USC, Oregon and OSU look to be the top 3 that I’ve personally seen but I haven’t seen several of the typical bottom feeders play yet.

Regardless how hot KM has played for Syracuse I’m still glad he gone, and happy we have Will Howard running our offense. If he gets hurt, talent seems to really drop off, IMO. He has great backfield and receiving corp to work with. OL has played well BUT hasn’t faced formidable Defense or coach yet. Jury is still out on our OL. IMO

Honda Maccord was looking really tough for Syracuse tonight. Them tossed a pick 6. Took kickoff and he drove right back down the field. In true fashion, (Burrows, Ewers for example), he is looking extraordinary in a different uniform. Just watched him tick the ball, avoid the sack, and made the 29yd run for a TD. Jumped up over defenders as he crossed the goal line.

To be fair. . . It is a 1-1 Stanford they are playing. Kyle is looking more comfortable than he ever looked as a Buckeye. I don't get it. Maybe the smaller stage and less pressure on him is the difference? Maybe I just watched a couple really good drives. I mean, the pick 6 hurts, but he was amazingly accurate on each drive. Minus the INT, he was impressive.

Edit: Syracuse D was pumped up and made Stanford punt. Kyle tossed his first pass for another interception. I might have spoken too highly of him too soon. 🤣

No I agree with you but I think he has had much better coaching from his position coach at Cuse than he did at OSU. Day might have also had something to do with his lack of playing up to his potential, IMO. Look at how well Stroud has played after taking of the Day shackles and binds. 😆
