Controlled hunts

I didnt put in for any online. Still have the TRC drawing on Wednesday. And a couple others I'll go to.

Nothing in 4 years for my wife and I. Every year I say im done and I keep entering the darn things. I am hunting in the Summit metroparks lottery again though which will be sweet!

I was pretty lucky with the draws 12-15 years ago (Ravenna x3, Plum Brook, Mosquito x3). I no longer buy a license so you can’t apply for a controlled hunt without a license, which is stupid. I’d freely pay the $3 for each opportunity and buy the license if chosen but that’s not an option.

Good luck, how’d you two end up with shed hunting this year, Nick?

We did okay. It seems to get harder and harder to spend time walking for sheds as I get older and busier. We picked up quite a few small ones this year, nothing too crazy. Sarah did find a side of a nice up and comer we had out back last year. Hopefully he is around again this season.

Awesome man! Doing any traveling this season?

No concrete plans just yet. I have a standing invite to hunt in NY with a buddy of mine and am also considering PA again but am not thrilled about the Saturday gun opener. It will mostly depend on if we can get our bucks on the ground early here in Ohio.

Good deal, good luck and keep us posted!

My uncle pulled a Plumbrook archery hunt and asked me to join him. Signing paperwork this week for a Sat. 2/1 archery hunt. Even though I grew up on a dead end road to the facility and have had the opportunity to help the ODNR with the hunts, nothing compares to entering the complex knowing you are there to hunt.

It's gonna be cold, windy, snowing and there won't be any antlers but it's still a NASA hunt....and the Orion capsule just rolled into her gates this AM for testing at the SPF🤘
