That's a negative. The spine goes all the way to the pan. It's old that's all I know lol. Dad always called it a chicken fryer because of how deep it is. Thanks for on what to look for!
Last week, I decided to give away our Food Network nonstick pots and pans due to the use of PFOAs in the coating. I've been cooking mostly in cast iron - Lodge and Smithey - so I don't need a full 12-piece pot and pan set. Instead, I ordered two pots and two pans from Sensarte off Amazon. They have a Swiss granite nonstick coating free of PFOAs. They look and cook great. While I was at it, I cashed in some Christmas cash on a 3-quart dutch oven from Smithey. If you haven't checked their stuff out, you should. American-made heirlooms for your kitchen. I'll own another piece or two as money allows.
