That is exactly why it was quickly shelved as an idea and left to the states to make it happen. The Left would be saying Martial Law is happening.
Wouldn't be martial law if it was voluntary - people sure like ta see the military when their house is under water or blown down the road

Exactly, but when their worlds not collapsing around them, they’ll stand their ground and bitch up a storm.

The problem is it's not heading towards "voluntary". The EEOC office has paved the way for employers to require shots by removing pretty much all liability around HIPAA and other items that would traditionally prohibit employers from doing such a thing. The government is blatantly encouraging private industry to force it on people.

As for the shit show. It's been a shitshow since day one. If this was SARS COV-1 and not 2, or MERS then 30%+ of this country would be dead by now. We are extraordinarily lucky this strain of SARS is not as deadly as previous strains that we're contained.

Yeah - well when i went into teaching had to take TB test - put something under your skin and watch for reaction - take the test or no job - don't think they will ever get the general population that don't want it to comply - it will remain voluntary for most - some employers in Ohio require flu shot - people in Fla waited up to 9 hours in line to get it - well your right Joe 2009 EEOC gave employers the right to require flu shots with 2 narrow exceptions dang

Even still those are well understood and time tested vaccinations. For covid they drastically changed the rules about what employers can and can't do regarding the covid vaccine. Basically rolled out the red carpet for them to force employees to get it. To include if you decline based on "religious reasons" they can, and are within their rights to inquire details and require proof. Since when has an employer been able to not just ask, but demand evidence of an employee's religion, and then further discriminate against them based on the employer's opinion of the religion or evidence. Using the same brush they gave complete immunity to the vaccine producers.

If its required it will be by individual employers and states - not on a federal level except for possible air travel -

My wife is a health care worker. She turned the shot down. She read an article saying that 60% of nursing home staff nationwide is turning it down.

Must be a problem...the facility administrator put out a video for his employees about why he is getting the shot, trying to appeal to them to do it for the community, etc
