Crawfish

Teeth, yards....lol

IDK man. I thought the acronym for Ohio was Oral Hygiene Is Optional. Meth heads around here aren't doing too good in the teeth department. Ohio does however have less trailers and toilet flower pots in the yard. Lol.

I went to Alabama 3 times in the last two years and around town it is definitely confused. It is four groups....blacks, wannabes, straight country fakes and the white folks in khaki shorts and pink polos. Outside of town the idea if country goes into a whole new level.

Gotta say everyone was nice, comparatively speaking.

Well I'll be! Looks like they were somehow introduced into the lake Erie marshes. What kind of numbers are we talking about here buddy?

Yep. A punter for one of the local duck clubs apparently brought them up here in the 60's. They are now so prevalent in the Lake Erie marshes that it's tough to find any other species of crawfish.

As far as numbers go, how many do you want? Lol. You can find em just about everywhere you look... But some areas do hold more than others. Find a honey hole and you can fill buckets with these things, dude.

I'm not a fan of eating them. I'll eat it, but I don't go out of my way for it. I've done a few boils myself even. I'd take the sausage and taters, you boys can have the craws and corn.

My parade's done been rained on.

Well. At least you don't have a sister that sends you pics like this just to rub it in.

We can seine them up by the hundreds in no time in damn near any roadside ditch or creek in Southern Wood County. Joe, I got a buddy from Thibidoux Island, Louisiana who used to come up every year to Deer hunt with us who would bring up bags of crawdad meat for me to make Etouffee. I told him I wished the crawdads around here tasted like his. He did a quick search and found that the ones I grew up using for bait were indeed the same species. My nephews now do a couple Boils every year. My buddy's and I have a big seafood boil party in the works. I contracted my nephews to get me the Craws

Oh, and when/if you do do this, do it outside! Not in your garage because it's windy...

Did you catch yours local? I've got a pond at my place that washed out a few years back but I think there are still some in there. Going to try to get time to set out a trap this weekend. If they taste like crap I'll just use the rest for fishing.
