Activity from my big deer dramatically slowed over the past 10ish days on the Cell-Link. I had planned to move it to the same area where I killed my public land buck last fall before season opened, so the time seemed right.

Small bucks were still showing here.

This is a power spike.

I moved it to a mock scrape. Not only did I piss in it, I saved my piss in a bottle from early this morning to add plenty of piss.

I've had daylight active deer each day since I hung the Cell Link in the new spot. Mostly does.

First buck customer.

I've got a couple of other cameras out now. One has real promise for early season. It's a location I found while scouting last winter, a small point off a main ridge that has a lot of white oaks. There was a lot of old buck sign in there last year. I slipped in to hang a camera and found fresh rubs and a large scrape, some nuts on the ground. I'll watch the wind and head in there to hunt and check that camera when the conditions are right.

Haven't updated here in a while. Lots of good bucks on the Cell Link on public, but very little pattern on their movement. Days with no pics, lots of daylight buck photos but no consistency morning/afternoon/night.

I've known I have a feeder height issue on my one chunk of private. It's tough for me to hang it any higher here by myself and I've had issues with deer bumping corn out for themselves. You know, like...

So I stole a cage off an old bird feeder and fit it to the bottom of the feeder. I don't think it's low enough the trash pandas can get ahold of it.

Trash pandas...

One decent buck, but I almost never get good buck photos in this location until late Oct and into early Nov.

This deer looks like maybe an old down-hiller. Wish I had a better pic of him. He came through a few days after the feeder had run empty.

I hunted last Saturday near where I had the Cell Link setup. I noticed that few of the deer I saw were getting picked up on camera. I was noticing most deer moving through one little pinch area, and moved the setup there on the way out. I think I got 8 deer pics that afternoon, where the other location was getting just 1-2 a day. This is public, by the way.

I started feeding at the house again. I've been curious if the big 8 from last year would come back. Got this oddly shaped buck and another good 8, but I'm not sure it's the deer from last year. This 8 looks younger to me.

And hello, old friend. 6 years in a row getting this buck on camera. I need to seal that deal already. I've nearly killed him twice, once in gun season and once with a bow.
