One of my faves like Bobby Bowden, regardless of the teams they coached for they made them formidable opponents and elevated the players potential and kicked ass in recruiting cuz players wanted to play for him/them.

He was an OSU hater, so I never liked him as a commentator, but absolutely respect his body of work and what he represents in college football history.
I was stationed in Little Rock from 1980-83 and he was their coach for the Razorbacks. They loved him. Talking bad about him would garner you an ass whooping…. He could’ve ran for governor and beat Clinton at the time….

Since he was from ELO his obit was published locally.
He was the main speaker at my wife's graduation ceremony for her master's at nd that I attended. He gave a hell of a speech. The majority was about his marriage. I didn't much care for him until I heard him talking life vs football.
