Crossbow upgrade trigger

As Jesse and I talked this weekend about some of the issues from being a compound hunter shooting a crossbow. We agreed that alot of the problem is in the trigger system.

I believe this is why people often shoot right. The trigger pull on these are often WAY deep. So deep that if you aren't used to that, you are gonna freak a little and slam that trigger. Resulting in a shot that hits right as you pull it.

This could be helpful those of us buying budget friendly equipment. I've never owned a higher end class crossbow, but I would imagine you get a better trigger as spend more money.

I am open to suggestions and discussion. As this is just a campfire conversation that I felt needed more input.

I have a tenpoint stealth nxt, not highest end but not budget either. It's trigger is heavy but solid. Reminds me of a shotgun trigger more than anything.
I think this is part of the problem. The verticle bow guys are used to the releases that are almost scary and crisp. The muscle memory takes over when a deer is in the crosshairs. Your brain is freaking out creating a target panic because the bow hasn't gone off yet.

I remember struggling with this but never knew why. I was fine on the target practice but fell apart mentally once the pressure was on the trigger.

Compared to a good 1911, or any of my good triggered rifles my crossbow trigger sucks.

But

It has no creep and breaks cleanly, it's just heavy.

Should also say that I always beat the Excalibur drum but it's the only crossbow I have ever owned lol. The trigger is the only good thing about it. The rest sucks. It's heavy plus it's a bitch to carry a triangle through the woods. I hate it but I need it to hunt or only do gun season.

Bought 2010 deer season finally changed the string last season. Twisted to the brace as the old one and never had to touch the scope. They have there advantages but I rather be carrying my red elm longbow!
