I'm just west of Ripley and have been out there in big waves. Walleye hit in big waves. Going with the waves works, getting back through them is not anything i ever want to do again. If we would have stalled and got sideways?! We would now be down there with the 50,000 other wrecks out there. I think Erie has more fresh water wrecks than any other fresh water body in the world. The thing is once lake Erie gets to 4 footers it starts sucking the bottom out of the gap. Erie has 3 waves for every wave on Lake Ontario for example. Thus Ontario is more swells Erie hits you bam! bam! bam! like a Hilti concrete hammer...
I’m well aware of Erie waves. Been on it many times in 2-3’ waves in a bass boat.I'm just west of Ripley and have been out there in big waves. Walleye hit in big waves.
