Two camp meetings during summer. Cut wood, prep things. Everybody brings enough food for one breakfast one lunch one dinner for everyone snacks etc..
Everyone has their day to cook all meals.
All food snacks liquor etc is on the table it’s a help your self as you will.
No loaded guns in cave.
Do what ya want hunt don’t hunt etc.
Everyone is aware at all times where others are when hunting.
We always have a notebook laying around for camp minutes.(fun to look back on over the years read stories bets)
We have a camp President every year it alternates. The consists of getting dates times food figured out so no one brings the same stuff. We also run camp like a democracy if something comes up for a vote and it’s a tie it goes the way President says.
If someone new is brought in to hunt. We initially have a meeting. Drink some beers etc and take a vote for hunter to be able to hunt.
The first year is a probationary year. We watch and see how that person is.How they pitch in around camp etc hunt etc. Then the following year there is a vote on that person to become part of camp. If voted in they get a seat at the table with a vote.
We usually throw in 5 dollars for biggest doe,10 dollars for biggest buck. Then on Friday we determine the winners and take that money to the liquor store and buy some bottles.
We always help each other drag deer.
I guess there’s really not a whole lot of rules except don’t run out of beer.
And no women at deer camp. That’s probably the biggest rule.Everything else is just a matter of keeping things equal per individual. I guess you would say. Oh and five bags of corn per person..I’m sure there’s a few more things I’m missing.

Our deer camp is pretty dang special. Ron and I and 5 other longtime buddies gather at one of the other 5 guys place for our annual deer gun season hunting camp. We all feel like 10 year old boys on Christmas Eve starting Thanksgiving Day thru the week of deer gun season. Many holes taped over on targets at 90-130 yards at the range between shooting barrages just a gnats breath away from the chicken coop converted to a comfy deer camp heaven. Past clover leaf groups at 130 yards from lever rifles and shotguns stuck to the low ceiling above the table we eat fresh fried backstraps, bluegill or a squirrel killed by Stacey he heard barking less than 25 minutes earlier. Many beers and hunting stories have been shared under the roof of this ole chicken house and with the addition of the TV about 5-7 years ago many college football games have been watched as well. Lord knows how many deer have been skinned on the swingset with gambrels and block and tackle hanging from above and the number of sheds and racks that have been measured in this special place all 7of us hold dear in our hearts. Once in awhile we’re blessed to have the Palmer’s boys from next door over for some country and bluegrass music. A few here as well as many other local friends have spent an evening or two with us during hunting season and seem to fit right in as well.
At our camp everyone helps clean and cook. There’s no loaded guns inside the CH.
Deer Camp is a very special place no doubt about it but it’s the special friends who share it that make it what it is. Can’t wait till it gets here, so I can feel like a kid again....😎👍🏻

Well we used to stay in a hotel. Then an old camper. Now we rent the farm house and turned a three car garage into our cabin[emoji2]
