They are holding up good. They are goin easy just working 4-5 hours a day... maybe put roof on Memorial Day weekend depending on weather. He wants it under roof bad.
Good too hear, slow and steady wins the race.
Looking great, one day closer. I am about tired of electrical work. Lol
My brother and I went down tonight. We got the big front door in and four of the heavier windows put in. Him and Mom got the roof installed this week so she is pretty much dry now

Wow, incredible progress. Your parent's are hard core workers. I'd have to take the rest of the summer off to recuperate after putting up a few walls.
Thanks! Vertical poplar boards on gable ends then a wrap around porch with metal roof. 12’ wide on front then 8’ around the rest....
I was meaning color. Going with the natural and just sealing it or going to paint it? I couldn’t imagine anything but that awesome natural wood grain but that’s just me.
You are correct keeping it natural with just water sealant over it. He says the boards will fade to gray and will be sharp with the burgundy roof.
The outside is done except for the wraparound porches. He decided to go with metal due to he’s not getting any younger and he really doesn’t want to be on the roof staining the wood. The progress will really slow down now. He hast to saw some more boards on his sawmill and start doing some inside work.
An interesting tidbit is that my dad had never seen a copperhead in real life in Ohio in his 64 years. He has killed two this week within 20 feet of the cabin. They were living in his scrap wood pile right outside the cabin.

looking really good
in my 63 years running around in southern Ohio I finally saw my first copperhead in the fire wood stacked against the cabin. They are very cool looking snakes.
