Dad nailed one!

He is getting back from dropping his head off. Should be posting a story and some more pics. Thing has good mass all over..

Well, dad told me to write up the story, so here goes. He had hunted one of the other spots in washington county the last two days with no luck. He only saw local deer feeding thru. He decided to hunt at my sisters house in camebridge. He was hunting in a ground blind in a creek bottom on the edge of a small field- opening.. The blind is setup with to where you can only shoot out of the front window, or otherwise the deer will spot you moving. He has had problems with deer winding him, because the wind usually blows from the oopening back to the woods, where they come from. Well before I left tuesday, I smoked up his clothes for him, and he stored them in a rubbermaid tote. He got to the blind around 3pm. Sometime after 5, he could hear deer moving around behind him on the semi frozen ground. From his left he saw a doe come in, with two fawns. The doe was acting nervous, and kept looking back behind him and to the right. Well the doe and fawns went from his left to right, and went behind him, out of sight. About two minutes later, one of the fawns comes back in front of him about ten yards away, and walks to the left. About 20 seconds later he sees rack, about ten yards away and knows he is a shooter. At this point the buck is facing him, looking at the window. He needs the deer to move to get a shot. Well the buck turns to his right, and gives dad a quartering away shot at ten yards. Dad shoots, and the buck takes off. He was unsure of the shot placement, so he decides to back out and wait an hour. He rounds up the family, and an hour later they start looking for blood. They find the arrow covered in blood, but no blood trail. After a couple minutes they find a Tiny drop. They start spreading out looking for more. My older sister keeps telling him she can smell the deer, you know the stinky rutted up smell. About a minute later they find him. He double lunged him with a slick trick, but it was a high lung hit, so the deer did not leave a blood trail. The deer only ran 40 yards, but it was thru alot of brush. The deer's body was huge. The processor said he weighed 200 field dressed, I would have guessed more. Alot of the neighbors have been hunting this deer.. Not anymore.. :smiley_clap:
