Damned raccoons

Just when I thought I've seen it all.... So over the weekend I planted 24 arborvitaes about 5 foot tall a piece and then mulched the whole area. Last night I got over 20 videos of raccoons on my property from 9 pm to 3 am. They started out prancing around my pond an back garage like normal and then it happened. Almost a dozen different ones all up and down my newly arborviaes shaking them and throwing all the mulch into the yard. I figured with the rain maybe they were having a hay day with grubs or something in the fresh dirt. Nope.... got home an started raking all the holes closed an mulch back and discovered they dug up every single fertilizer stick i put in over the weekend. They're the spike tree kind from miracle grow that you hammer into and under the ground. All 24 of them.. all dug out from underground an throw all in the lawn an driveway. After a little research alot of these companies put fish products in the spikes... you would never know it. No sweet smell no nothing. I cant believe they were able to smell and dig out every single one of them in the pouring rain.

Sorry for the long post I know they're menacing but would've never guessed this . Needless to say multiple traps set and they will soon be finding a new forever home....giving back to the enviroment

Had about 15 more videos last night they came back scratching for more . Got 2 several more to go.

I bought a bunch of white pines to make a visual break in the one property line. They dug them up so many times it killed them.

So dog proof coon traps and high speed lead injection have thinned them down (during trapping season of course) I find them more effective than the live traps you're using.

Crazy... thanks for the tip on the traps. If I don't make a dent in them with these ill try em out
