Decent ones

Finally had couple decent ones show up. Found what I thought to be a good trail back in muzzleloader, turns out my gut was right

The heavy one is 11pt I'm liking him, the wide one is a 13pt has split brow really hoping he makes it another year. This piece has some new unwanted lol hunting pressure on it and around it so who knows what will happen.

So far this guy is staying on top of list just because nothing else has moved in yet. Some prior commitments kept him safe during the last cold front. Hopefully better luck next round.

Decent? Decent! Shooh I only hope of having one like that in my sites. Around here, you get a 120-30” deer, you’re licking your chops. Good luck, seems like you have plenty of options.

I don't know what he'll score but I have his left shed from two years ago and I figure he's at least 5 1/2 this year. Anything can happen over the next month or two.

If you think that deer is just decent, keep shopping until you find one you think is good. Next year he could be a real giant. But not if you kill him when he's only decent.

A 5.5 year old deer is probably at his peak or close too it….

I'm not sure. I've read confliting articles on that. I just know that if I wasn't completely satisfied with a deer, I wouldn't shoot it. And I'm not a trophy hunter. I just shoot what makes me happy. Decent is not a word I use. They'll all giants or studs. Lol. No one has to talk me into shoot one

Odds are stacked against these bucks, humans between harvesting them, cars running them over, critters after them, I’d say he’s been dodging bullets, both literally and figuratively….. 5.5 is a good run for these guys….

Agreed. But I ain't buying a Taco at burger King either. I go to the place that makes tacos if I want a Taco. Buying it because it is what available isn't what I talking about here. That is what plenty of people dream about. Let them shoot him of let him try and make it another year. See what happens.

don't get me wrong he's big enough for me to kill lol, I just don't have anything on camera bigger yet. I would be more than happy with him because I have a little history with him. but there is another guy hunting this piece and I'm guessing doing way more harm than good for me as we are on totally different hunting levels. I've got a few good deer but I've never killed what I call a giant because I don't have it in me to let deer like this walk ha.
