here are my decoys ready to go.

last year I found a big old tom on the side of the road. I removed and dried his tail, and this morning made a few modifications to make it look more like a jake.
I seperated the tail into three parts. the middle section was just the three middle feathers. I arranged the three parts on the plastic sheet that came with the dacoys as its tail so that the middle feathers were a little higher than the others and zip tied them in place

I'd say that will work out just fine for you, Dante! Good thinking modifying it into a jake fan.

cool man.. i modified my pretty boy in a similar way.. i cut the beard a lil shorter to where it looks like an older jake/young tom and stuck a jake tail in.. i am also in the process of trying to rig the fan to move with some fishing line... i am taking a neighbor kid out saturday morning and plan to try it..good luck!!
