Used to go each year starting in late 90's through early 2000's when it synced up with the Beef Expo. Byron actually grabbed my uncle, myself and 3 other guys and bought our tickets one year. Got to chat with him while we waited in line. Catch one of his shows as mentioned, it's pretty cool! My wife sat through a turkey calling seminar one year and was picked to come up and run a new slate they were pimping. She's never held a turkey call before in her life. Still got that signed slate outside in the cabinet.
I think it's funny to hear guys talk about what other people are wearing or why they are there. It's a show, it will bring in all makes and models, why the hell are you checking out other dudes? Go check out some new product, pick out a new shirt or 2, see some big deer, some great photographs, watch some free hunting shows at the guide booths, drool over some moose and elk, get some elk jerky, watch a seminar. Saturday mid-morning through late afternoon is usually packed. I recall the turkey mouth calls being a pain when trying to talk to booth owners, but they had since created a "turkey town" area where they asked all turkey calls to be kept. Obviously you can't police everything, but it seemed to help.
Haven't been there since F&S took over. If you have nothing to do and you like the outdoors, go check it out.
