Diesel truck info.

I feel bad for the people who find their way to this thread thinking it was about American made diesels.....:smiley_arrogant:

lmao.... We like to think it's enlightening lol

Gotta keep an open mind when looking for deals.... Sometimes you buy what you'd think you wouldn't .....

If I was going to go that route I would look for a 150k plus high mileage truck to park and a 400+ HP car to drive. Honestly I spend 2 hours a day in a vehicle commuting. In a month of commuting that's an extra 40 hour work week spent in a car. If I had to do that in an Accord I would likely give up on life. I couldn't do it. The only reason I drive a car now is the horsepower and cornering fun factor

See? The heart (and the commuter ass) wants what it wants for a good reason.
Buy your bigass diesel.

Gee slow down, relax and enjoy life. I have a 2003 Nisson 350Z with 24K miles that I drive for fun and relax at 70 MPH.

I'm chill man. I drive back road state route with a speed limit of 55. I'm commonly doing 70-75, the car makes it feel like a Sunday stroll.

Diesel, towing and large cargo capacity, more room than you can shake a stick at, shaggin wagon, overnight sleeping, safe, a freaking tank!

Those excursions are sweet. We almost owned a blacked out "Jack Bauer:24" look alike but that was back when fuel was crazy expensive.

Dang near identical to my FILs that I brought to Mingo. I put all of the seats down and put an XL Coleman cot in it to sleep on. Travis and I came down for the muzzy hunt and brought it then too. We both slept in the back of it with plenty of room for gear.

That thing would look bad ass with a few inches of lift and beefier tires😎

I was just doing some research and a hypermiling forum popped up. Guys are doing a few cheap mods and with a tuner can get 26 mpg highway out of them. Stock they get around 16 combined which is better than the 5.7 L in the Tundra.

I almost suggested an Excursion but figured it only fit the 4x4 and diesel needs. They are nice but sometimes a guy needs a pickup bed. Blood washes out easier. Firewood cleans out better too.

The only stock diesel that will not get better than the tundra is a Ford 6.4L. The trade off is you have twice the truck. Keep in mind that a guesstimate of 6k on the Kubota plus the trailer will put you close to the Tundra's max tow rating of 9,000lbs with a crew can/4x4 config.

My 43HP Kubota with loader is under 6k pretty easily. Closer to 4-5k. Add in 2000-3000lbs depending upon how heavy a trailer. He will be at 6-8000lbs. Maybe add 600-1000lbs for a really heavy attachment on the rear.

Just making sure the trailer weight is being included. Not fun towing at max rating, especially if needing to pull a grade or stopping quickly. I prefer the 80/20 rule for a non-white knuckle experience. Plus you get to enjoy the 6-8mpg while doing so.

I've seen a couple lifted Excursions that looked fuckin awesome. I'd drive one in a heartbeat. Dad had a F250 with the 7.3 and a tuner (no idea what kind)... That truck was a monster... Probably the fastest vehicle I've driven to date.

I wouldn't hesitate to drive one either, they look bad ass with a mild lift and beefy tires.

Lol, go drive one of the 17' Powerstrokes...they are mighty impressive out of the box.

My goal was an 11 second pass with my Cummin's. I ran out of pocket book before that happened and it would most likely put an 18 second pass down today, lol.

The problem with a vehicle that old is it would have to be a signature loan with a higher APR versus a vehicle loan with a low APR. I typically go through my Local Credit Union and I'm pretty sure their cut off on a loan is 10 year old vehicles.
