By closing public ground to dog trainers your just shooting yourself in the foot. I know some big trainers that lease thousands of acres..... so start closing land, and the general public will lose land because these trainers will lease it... trainers have the money to do it too.

I hunt my dog most of those months for anything from dove to duck to woodcock. When I'm hunting, we DON'T train. I need those summer months to tune my dog up. I don't expect everything to be free in this world but I think I pay enough to the state every year for my dog license along with my hunting license to have a little area to train on. Believe me, I'm trying to buy more ground that I can use to train on. It's hard for an under 30 year old to just go out and buy 100 acres even if you can make money on it. I don't have a rich uncle or parents for that matter and I work everyday for the money I make. I thought about all the things you mentioned before I bought a dog, back then, I was living in an state that didn't have such dog regulations and more areas to train on throughout the summer!

I guess I don't understand what the basis for the law change is. Of all the reasons people have had turkey hunts ruined I have never heard mention of bird dogs come up. I think dog training makes up a extremely small percentage of public land usage.
