Don't think you have these in Ohio

We used to have a lot more moose than we do now so I was real surprised to get a picture of one. I believe the population is down 40-50% from what it was in late 80's and early 90's. It used to be I could always find moose if I wanted. Even hit one with my truck when I was in college.

Had a class one time with Canadians teaching it, they had a very easy way of dragging the out.... They'd winch it out with hundreds of yards of rope and a winch on the front of their hunting vehicle.....

I understand you need a team of draft horses to get them out of the woods.

I've never been drawn for a permit so I've never experienced it but I know people who have. A lot of the area around me is national forest and they do not allowed any wheeled vehicles. A friend of mines father shot one years ago over a mile from the main road. It took 10 guys around 12 hours to drag it out. They would drag for about 100 feet and then have to take a break.

Quartered and packed out on mules or horses. Still a long process but much better lol.
