Anyone pursuing mourning doves as of today? Think I may head out tomorrow evening to run some ammo through of my grandpaps 16 GA double barrel . . . LOL!
I just posted a thread about it here.. We had fun but there wasn't the numbers there were last year in the ODNR sunflower fields.. Last year the guns never cooled off. This year we had a good 20 minute wait sometimes between shots. I think it's still early and the northern birds haven't moved down.
I think I should have walked the grain feild for doves instead of wasting my time shooting a tick infested fox squirrel. Ill try to get out later this week with the .28 gauge.
I'm gonna try to get out after them tomorrow afternoon. I locked up a good spot at an old gravel pit where they've been coming in the evening to get grit. Should be a pretty good hunt.
