It was 54 degrees yesterday. It just broke below 60 the last week or so, that seems to be the switch for the crappie and saugeye in this area. Indian Lake is where these were caught.
Nice! I'll be watching your thread like a hawk! I get so wrapped up chasing deer every year that I miss out on the fishing. I've said it a dozen times, that this year, I'm going fishing in the fall. I never do...
Fished 6 hours total yesterday, 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon and just could not find the fish. This dink saugeye was the only fish that I landed yesterday in total. Tough day fishing, but still a great day to be on the water.
Very nice! Yesterday was so nice, all I could think about was hooking up the boat and heading to the lake. Just as I was about to get motivated to do that, I found out I needed to go into the shop! grrr.... Oh well, hopefully I'll get out. If not, I'll enjoy your posts here even more!
Hit the bank yesterday afternoon, got into some bluegill earlier in the day:
The crappie turned on later in the evening:
The biggest of the day, we haven't measured him yet but I will guess this one will go 13-14".
Compared to years past this has been a slow start to our fall fishing season, but Dad and I had a great time last night catching these. We ended up 15 bluegill, 6 crappie over the 9" minimum, and caught 1 saugeye at dark.
