Eventful day, sleepless night.

Sorry to hear this Dave. I had one go to an open spot once and thought she crossed it. We found her in a different direction. Believe mine wanted to cross the open spot, but wasn't feeling good enough to, so she back-tracked a little for better cover.

Great effort on not wanting to just give up Dave. That would be the easy thing to do. Thanks for putting the story together and sharing it with us all. The outcome of not finding the deer sucks but it's something every bow hunter will face if they hunt long enough. Still a kick in the nuts for sure.

Dang Dante, hate to hear you didn't recover your deer, although, I do admire your effort! Get back in the saddle and don't let it keep you down TOO long.

Sorry to hear of your lost deer. I thought I lost my 1st deer as I didn't have any real blood trail. But I got lucky with a liver shot and she bleed out inside. Hang in there and learn from your loss and everything will work out in the future.

Its all about learning from my mistakes. if the shot would have been better, she wouldnt have made it as far as she did. I have to learn from that, and make a better shot next time.
