What are your thoughts on a Fat Tire Mountain Bike, for hunting?
Does anyone else own one?
I was at Bass Pro and noticed that all of their bikes were on 50% sale pricing. As it turns out, they're getting out of the bike business. I've always been curious about the Fat Tire Mountain Bikes, for hunting travels to and from the stand. They make a deer cart hitch for them too.
Any way, I ended up getting a $600 bike for $300.
After I got it home, I adjusted the derailleur for better shifting and took it for a ride thru the woods. I am totally impressed with how stable it is, while riding over soft surfaces.
Any other type of bike that I've rode off of paved surfaces, was a struggle. This machine rides on thru like it's nothing.
26"x4" tires with 20# pressure and 10 speeds on a wide hub with disc breaks front and rear. I don't know what it weighs, but it can't be over 10#.
I gotta replace that skinny seat with a gel seat, but otherwise it's ready to go. I'd like to find a hitch for my deer cart too.
