Faucci

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, revealed Wednesday he wears a mask while in public partly as a “symbol” of best practices during the coronavirus pandemic — breaking with President Donald Trump, who has resisted criticism that he should model similar behavior for Americans.

“I wear it for the reason that I believe it is effective,” Fauci told CNN. “It’s not 100 percent effective. I mean, it’s sort of respect for another person, and have that other person respect you. You wear a mask, they wear a mask, you protect each other.”

But apart from wanting “to protect myself and protect others,” Fauci also said he chooses to wear a face covering “because I want to make it be a symbol for people to see that that’s the kind of thing you should be doing.”

Have to agree with Jamie on this one. Fauci is not trustworthy. He admittedly lied to a nation to achieve an end. There's no way of knowing if he is or isn't doing the same now.

And not the first time. He did a whole bunch of shady stuff with the aids epidemic. I initially listened to him, now I dont trust him as fat as I can throw him. I don't think anyone is arguing that wearing a mask or the other measures like washing your hands and social distancing is a bad thing. I think where people are drawing the line is infringement on personal liberties and an expectation that everyone should be mandated to do something. This country has always been one of personal responsibility and accountability. Every person and business should be allowed to assess their own risk appetite and make a determination based upon that understanding. If people dont agree with it then they can assess their own risk and choose not to go to that business or self isolate themselves away from others with a lax attitude. This is not SARS1, MERS or EBOLA.
