Fighting Depression

Hey Jon at least your talking to your doc. thats a good start. The best treatment I can think of is abandom that gay side of the river and start fishing with me and Swantucky more often...:smiley_clap:

Welll I may be willing to do a lot to fight these demons
But switching over to the GAY side of the river isn't one of them LOL

Oh .......Hell with it
I am planning on having to swing over and say hello a few times this coming spring

I go back to the Doc shortly
Just hope he can help

John

Get out and Kill something! Usually makes me feel better. :smiley_coolpeace:
When I start feeling down, I try and accomplish a few things that I've been putting off. Seems to pick me up a little.
Or hang with us for awhile and you'll soon see you're not that bad offrotflmao

Sorry to hear this John. Have you ever asked God to help you? There is power in prayer! I have never been in depression and I hope I never will. My Dad always told Ric and I. There's someone worst off than you and be thankful that you have God,family and your health. Hang in there!

You are a very lucky man Ronnie to never have been through depression. I thought everyone has.

John you have many friends here wishing you well. That is a blessing! Look to them for strength.

Hey Jimmy, the only time that I ever get depressed, is when you know who brings up WORK during the RUT! Lol. Seriously though, I have times when I get sad or down, but as far as being in depression, no. When Ric and I lost our Dad, it took a toll on me. Dads the one that instilled in us that life is a gift and when life deals you lemons, make lemonade!

You'll b good man.

Just keep that brain occupied. Force yourself to get out and do the things you love.

Even if you dont feel like doing it, there will be at least one moment when everything else dissapears and and you zone out and get 'that feeling' of being fulfilled.

Gotta force yourself

Just got to force yourself to do it.

I've been meaning to respond to this for a while and just wasn't sure what to say. I've been in similar shoes John and it does suck. When I was 16, I suffered a Grade III concussion and whiplash from a football injury. I do not remember anything from 3PM to after midnight on that day. Not getting ready for the game. Not the first quarter. Not any of the ambulance ride and ER visit. Just woke up in a hospital bed at 12:30AM thinking "WTF just happened?!?" I was a straight 4.0 student at the time and as straight laced as it came. What followed the concussion was a complete emotional transformation that completely altered the rest of my life. It took nearly two years for me to get out of the funk that was essentially PTSD. Given that we were at such different places in our lives when we entered this funk, I doubt I can say anything that will help other than it will get better. You have things that are special to you and they will again gain their luster. Time heals all wounds buddy and I wish you the best in your recovery process.
