Finally...a good hunt!!

We finally had a good day of hunting in our area today. Had well over 200 geese and at least that many ducks flying around. After knocking the cobwebs out of our guns with a few misses shots, we started getting on them. Ended the day with 4 mallards and a blue wing teal. You read that right....a blue wing teal in December!!! And to top it all off, it was TRIPLE banded! Someone lost a pet though, cause they are farm bands, not USFWS. They will still look good on the lanyards though!!

I tried to look up the 3 digit # on the band, but had no luck. It was also the smallest teal I have ever seen. Wasn't much bigger than a grouse or grebe. It was definitely a good day, and tomorrow is shaping up to be just as good. Hoping the birds stay put and will work for us again.
