Good luck!
That view looks familiar.lol

It should, you hung everyone of my sets! Lol

This place as you remember is an awesome set but with better mast in other areas it's a crap shoot hunting earlier in the season but odd wind direction limited my options. Thanks again for helping us otherwise I'd be stuck to hunting on the ground and my options are really limited there! Lol

My solo hunting statistics

I hunted this past Friday morning ahead of the rain from first light for 3 hours. I did jump a deer with the wind in my favor and basically just spooked it from a distance of about 40 yards in the dark. I just sat down for 10 minutes then slipped on into my tree about 50 yards below where it was bedded or milling around. I mocked a few scrapes with Brian a few weeks ago and have a few small bucks checking them out so I imagine it was one of them I spooked.

Deer Sightings 0
Buck Sightings 0
Doe's and other deer Sightings 0
Yote Sightings 0
Turkey Sightings 0

I hate to be negative but those stats kinda suck. Just saying. . . Remind me of last year's stats for you. Hope you don't go thru skunk season again. Hope you DO kill a dandy again though!

Like I told Ric a couple weeks ago. He'll go 15 hunts without seeing a deer then bam, a giant comes walking down the trail and gives him a 20 yard broadside shot. JK Ric, I hope it doesn't go like that lol

With the other few hunters now hunting on the piece of ground where I've been hunting the last 4 years with little disturbance I wonder if the added pressure and increased hunter presence is the reason for last years extremely low deer encounters!?! Last year unbeknownst to me at the time I had 3 others apparently hunting right near me all along. So when I'm not there I wonder what they're doing and seeing. Who knows? I just know my encounters have plummeted since 2012-13 season after taking my first 2 deer on this piece of ground. I do know the numbers are still down some because my cameras don't lie but added hunter presence isn't gonna help those numbers increase either!

It's obviously a good property, you've killed some dandies out there! Too bad you are dealing with so many other hunters.

I just cant believe what dipshits they are to put their stands so close to yours.
I would head over to that other section you and i talked about since the guy seems to like your area now,bet he wouldnt like that very well.
That is the problem once you start taking some good ones out of an area and the neighbors find out about it.

How many acres is this property, Ric?

The whole farm is about 350 acres but I just stay on the 75 acres nobody else cared about when I got permission. It's not the best part of the farm as it's mostly fields and fingers. The deer bed and travel the fingers so it's tricky slipping in undetected especially after the crops get harvested!

Flew home form work yesterday thinking with the clear skies if squeeze out a few extra minutes in the stand if I went so I cleaned up and slipped on my smoked clothes and slipped up into the stand over looking the oak flat littered with all kinds of acorns! The wind was perfect as it blew in my face or right cheek coming from the NE and I didn't jump anything on my way in. Just saw squirrels and that was it. Sat from 6:20-7:27.
