First Groundhog Video

My neighbor, Riley and I are always glassing the field to the west and watching the bucks as their antlers grow. Yesterday, we spot a groundhog, munching down on the soy beans. I grab my Savage 22-250 and he grabs his spotting scope with his cell phone attachment and starts a video. The groundhog was standing up each time he'd grab another bite of soy bean leaves and look around. I had to time it, when he'd stand and when he went down for another leaf. The shot was approximately 190 yards.
55 gr. Hornady V-Max at 3850 fps.

We were accuracy fanatics back in the day. Hand loaded all our rounds. This savage never had factory ammo shot out of it. 22-250 you could cover five shots at 100 yards with a dime. My buddy had same rifle but in 220 swift that would do the same. The one I’m holding was 400 yards. Wanted to get into the 500 yard club but never made it lol. You got me in the mood to go glass some fields. The scope is 6-24 x40 with a 1/8 minute dot reticle. The load was and still is 38 grains of H-380 with a 50 grain hornady Speer point.
