First time squirrel hunting

Wow, lots of information. Thanks a ton guys. I will definitely heed your advice. Frank, Im not sure I will have the time to put 20 rounds down range before I go out tomorrow morning. I don't have anywhere to go and just shoot a bunch of rounds close to my house. I will keep the cleaning vs. not cleaning thoughts in mind TOO. Ill update on this post once I get back in town.

Dustin just give me a call and you can come out and use my private range.

Dustin took me up on my sight in offer and stopped over after work. His Savage rifle sure does shoot well and of course it had a good shooter behind it.
I setup a25 yd. shooting bench and target. Good luck on your hunt tomorrow.



I took Dustin on a tour of the farm on my gold cart. When going past the food plot and Dustin says "look there's one bedded down". About 30 yds. away a small doe was bedded down and just could see her head and ears above the forage oats and winter greens. We went into the woods on the golf cart and when we came back out she got up and ran off. That was neat.
A good time with a follow TOOzer.

The day did not go as well as I had hoped. Saw a total of 3 squirrels. the 1st 2 were going limb to limb without stopping. The third one didn't make it far. Shot him as he came around the back side of the tree. After that we got to go fishing for a while at the Tank Plant up in Lima. Caught 2 nice Bass. About 2 lbs each. Great Weather. Now Im looking for somewhere or someone to go squirrel hunting with next weekend. Any options in the Butler county area? Or within 50 miles? Let me know. Thanks for all the advice guys. Lots of help.

Nice weather, one squirrel and two nice bass. That sounds like a pretty good day to me. I dont know anything about butler county
