Since J posted a thread, I figured what the hell... So I have one camera out so far at a spot where I had 2 nice bucks on camera in Jan. So they should have survived... Been getting some does and bucks on camera but too early to tell as they are just sporting nubs.. Here's a doe that's got a lot of white on her and also a buck which might turn out to be something... I'm looking at how body is shaped for just coming through the winter... And yes I got a go swap out that camera as pics are garbage..

Deer are on the Lucky Buck every morning and nightly... Not a ton ( but then again this area isn't over populated )... Numerous bucks but still in very early stages of growth... So it's hard to tell status of 2 bucks I'm targeting... I gotta get there and swap that camera out...

Here's the two I'm after... Pics are in Jan. so I know they made it through the season.. It's just that this woods are enormous and who knows where they are hanging out... The one pic is in Oct. when the guys were here bear hunting... He disappeared till Jan... Look at the size of his body, he's huge for a big woods mountainous deer... No AG crops to be found anywhere close...

Both are great deer to chase Rich! You catch one of them in a huge amount of timber like that you’ve really accomplished something.

Ric ... I know the cards are stacked against me as these deer are impossible to pattern... Hell I'd be happy to just get another trail cam pic of the split brow one... These woods are just wild wild wild and big... The acorn crop will play a big part, but then again if every ridge has acorns dropping forget it... A hot dog in heat might help... But again the size of the woods doesn't help... If several swamps separate them he's not gonna smell her... Only thing that will help is: BLIND ASS LUCK.... RIGHT SPOT AT THE RIGHT TIME.... SKILL IS NOT A FACTOR HERE.... Maybe if I was a Benoit and snow was on the ground... I hunted another buck several years ago and had pics of him every night in the same woods... Never seen him during daylight hours hunting... Again he made it through hunting season and I had him on camera in Feb... Next spring and summer not a single pic .. Where did he go... Mind boggling... Here's a pic of him...
