Are the tags that you and Jon bought early season still valid during this late season or is that a whole different license they put out for this time period??

Our tags are still good...
Dan... I thought it would be lower due to shitty weather, rain, dense fog etc

Probably a lot of people out for the 6 day firearms deer hunting with a bear permit in their pocket and a bear happens to wander by. I wouldn’t think many would be strictly bear hunting now.

George..... I'm sure these are deer hunters deer hunting that happen across a bear... I'm also sure guys doing deer drives are shooting them... And you know how that goes, someone in the group has a bear tag and uses it to tag a bear that someone else shot...

So today I hung up a new mount to my collection... Although being the smallest of the bunch, it definitely holds a special place in my heart... It was a deer my Dad shot back in the 1940's in Pa. It has hung in numerous places, that last being my late brothers... Now it will take a spot on my dens wall...

I'm in for the day, if there's any deer or bears across the road from my house, let them live... To date I've had a successful season .. Started off with the twins here for bear season.. Dan shooting a bear was the highlight for this year.. So happy to be part of that... Now the pressure is on to get Jon a bear in 2025... Then I had some luck in Illinois harvesting 2 decent bucks... So I'm not one to harvest an animal just because I have a tag... Enough is enough... So I'll stay home and write out Christmas cards.. So 2024 is officially in the books...

13 bears harvested yesterday ( Sat. ) bringing this week's total to 73.... Season total is 470... They fell a little short of tagged bears harvested so I'm sure the state will extend the season and extra 4 days next week...

As per Fish and Game today there will be no extension of the bear season this week... I'm happy they did not extend it as I think we harvested enough and this will assure some bears left for the TWINS to chase next Oct.. Also it's a slap in the face for the anti hunters who believe it's a trophy hunt... This shows the hunt is geared towards maintaining a healthy bear population....

So I'm sure my target buck out in Illinois is in the neighbors freezer as he was on the camera every day up until gun season... Since then his a no show... These are the neighbors that have their shooting shacks right on the property line...
