I'm surprised as the ghost is in bear country and I haven't seen a single bear in about 8 sits.... Haven't seen a deer either.... LOL...
Plan is to take another backpack in somewhere with apples and turkey sandwiches and hang in tree....:ROFLMAO:

You will be rewarded. Even if the reward is just being away from civilization for a few hours at a time. I have faith that you will find enjoyment, even if it isn't easy to see right away. Keep plugging away. You got this.

Make sure it has bacon on the Sammy.
I love some (bottle or two) anise on my sammy's... Just for the extra flavor... Actually the bitch that I think stole my backpack shares the woods with the ghost... She knows I'm pissed and she left town....

So looks like I'm drawing a blank this year... First year I've never seen a bear during bear season... Last year I passed on 5 or 6... For having a bear population that is growing in leaps and bounds, you would think this is strange... However lack of bear activity during the past fall and early hibernation can be attributed to one thing: LACK OF NATURAL FOOD... There were no acorns, beech nuts etc. this year... You could not find a single acorn in any of the Northern Jersey woodlands... Therefore when a bear uses more energy to find food than he gets out of it, his body automatically shuts down... Similar to your driving 20 straight hours without sleep, eventually you fall asleep at wheel... So totals for the second half of the season were 68 bears harvested, bringing the grand total for the 2 segments to 404 bears harvested.... I'm sure the state will extend it another 4 days next week, however with a major snowstorm predicted for Wed. I doubt many more will be harvested.... But it is a good time to take a walk and if you cut a fresh set of tracks, get on them and follow, eventually you may catch up....
It was fun while it lasted, but with Denture Man at the helm, it could be our last bear hunt for awhile..

Well they extended the season for four more days... My bears are all tucked away for winter, so I'm out of the game... So far the last three days only 2 bears taken... So Elvis has left the building...

Well the Fat Lady has sung...Bear season is officially over.... 410 bears were harvested.... That's 95 more than last year when 315 were harvested... That's not bad considering the fact NJ is so populated and there were far less hunters this year... It was a slow year to say the least, but then again it was 2020... My one spot was active both day and night, but none of those bears tickled my fancy so I moved on... Next spot I had pics of a few I'd shoot but they disappeared and we're not staying in the area... I'd get one pic and that's all...And this is an area that is usually polluted with bears...I think what happened was due to no mast crop what's so ever they hibernated early... When it takes more energy to find food than they get out of it, Mother Nature says bedtime.... Now we gotta wait and see what our wonderful governor is gonna do...
