The marshes and swamps are pretty beat up along with the hardwoods as well… but definitely plenty of critters around! Make sure you apply for the permit this year. You have to have it to hunt the refuge this year. @switchhitter

First time back in the woods after the hurricanes for a solo opening day of small game season in a management area I’ve been hunting all my life pretty much. Haven’t missed an opener down here in 14 years. Got in at 615 and had this bar dead at 705am. Took two 00 buck to the face and neck area. Didn’t go twenty lol
