Went to Giant Eagle at lunch today to pick up some snacks for the office. That place is the Dr. Pepper of grocery stores. 😂 It's definitely not a cheap option and trying to eat clean there is next to impossible compared to other options.

I did find a keto friendly nut container that was semi healthy. Good for snacking. Especially when driving.

A member here put it perfectly, the only food in those places are on the outside walls.
That's one of Michael Pollan's key points in The Omnivore's Dilemma. He also has a short book called Food Rules: An Eater's Manual. He's a bleeding heart liberal who wants you to eat more plants than protein, but his data/info on the majority of the subject is worth consideration.

It’s amazing how we’ve collectively lost our common sense on food consumption.
It's more amazing how effective the psychological and physiological manipulation of our society was. I used to nerd out of the psychology of grocery stores and food packaging. That predated my research on our food system and it's maddening how intentional the manipulation has been.

If you pay attention to the ads, and just go buy the certified Angus that they have on sale, you’ll find out that it is extremely cheap to buy meat there. For example, chuck roast at 599 per pound prime is usually $.20 more. When they have Chuck eye steak on sale, it is typically a dollar more or so. Also, London broil is a fantastic meat if you cook it right. Whenever they have chuck roast on sale, I typically buy 8 to 10 of them and put them in the freezer. I’ll do a reverse with the Traeger and cut them up for snacks and on the go food.

I went on this storm call and all the guys went to waffle house, I chose to just skip dinner. This week will test me.
Get some sardines. Make sure you get the ones with the bone in and skin on. We both eat at least one can per day. Also, we hard boiled eggs to take with us on the boat and road trips.

Thank you, these are great, and a decent sense of humor as well.

I haven't looked in a while, how are the mustard or hot sauce ones compared to just water? I prefer them though I suppose I can use my own hot sauce or mustard.
