Ohio State running back Carlos Hyde's indefinite suspension may not last that long.
According to a report from Yahoo, surveillance footage from the night club Hyde was at early Saturday morning does not show Hyde striking the alleged victim. Hyde had been named a "person of interest" in an alleged assault against a female at Sugar Bar 2, a nightclub in Columbus.
According to the Yahoo report the video shows Hyde speaking in the direction of the alleged victim before she punches him in the head. Hyde then left the area and reached back in the alleged victim's direction in a "non-confrontational manner" and it does not appear Hyde ever struck the alleged victim.
Yahoo also reports that charges aren't expected to be filed against Hyde.
If that is the case it's obviously good news for Hyde and the Buckeyes. Urban Meyer suspended his running back indefinitely on Monday. If no files are charged against Hyde it's hard to believe he'll miss any game time this season.
Hyde finished second on the Buckeyes in rushing yards last season with 970, and he also scored 16 touchdowns.
