Great app in TOO!

🤔 what was that?

https://birdnet.cornell.edu/

I found this app a couple years ago while sitting the turkey blind and listening to all manner of bird calls.

Simply put, it is extraordinary.

You run the app, listen and watch the waterfall display as birds call.

Stop the app when you have candidate(s) calls caught.

On the spectrum analyzer, you can see the calls. Select the one you to analyze.

Submit and Cornell big data does some gonkulations.

What great is you can play back what sent in to register and build your knowledge.

Select another call in the same capture...

Send to analyze...

Its really just that easy. Found two new species this turkey season.

Give it a try send post up rare or uncommon birds you've 'caught'.

Sitting on the deck with coffee, hearing aids turned up, very quiet morning so I tapped into the songs I'm listening to to ID some birds. Without the hearing aids I can't hear any but the loudest and closest. It is amazing what you don't even know you're missing.

The waterfall spectrum analyzer makes it easy to ID songs 🎵 that are unfamiliar. It has a playback so you can listen and get better at ID'ng them without the app.

Very strange spring 🤔, usually I get various birds calling all morning long. Last two days its been eerily quiet.

Using Birdnet by Cornell U it's waterfall display across those freqs... nadda. Usually its lit up and helps to ID birds species to songs. Hears stuff i can't anymore.

Today's capture... very very quiet.
