I've lived out west for a number of decades.
Besides critters I've hunted fossils, artifacts, rocks & minerals in north western Nebraska, south western South Dakota, all over Wyoming and northern Utah.
I've been studying up on the types, places and laws there on Ohio. Looks like it'll be a hoot.
Any other folks here hunt these things too?

I love it. I'm the most unlucky artifact hunter you'll ever meet though. In all my years hunting in Ohio I always kept my eyes to the ground while walking in fields and only ever found one point. I had more luck metal detecting. Junk to most but I always enjoyed digging stuff up, horse tack, lantern pieces, Model T lifters, etc. I've always enjoyed taking a step back in time.

@finelyshedded and his brother @Fullbore have been known to collect a few stone points.
Ron @Fullbore has had some real nice finds over the years but access and no till practices have really taken its toll on his success. There’s other here that have found some nice artifacts and someone started a thread several years ago with info and finds within its pages.
