Very interesting! That was out of New Brunswick too, would have thought the peak dates would have been much earlier.
see I have never had GREAT experiance the first week of NOV. The second week I have had great experience.
Also lets assume peak mating time is the 20th
How long does it take for a buck to chase that doe before they screw?
Its not like he is chasing her for 2.5 weeks, took her on a few dates, then moved in and got laid. I would assume it is a few days before that is all.
I agree I think anytime from Oct 31-Dec is a damn good time to be in a tree. I just in my experience and a lot of reading cant wrap my head around the first week of Nov. I really wish gun season was the 2nd week of Dec. I think we would see even better action right after Thanksgiving.
Hope you all enjoyed this article.

I don't usually have much luck the first week in Nov either. It seems like my farm is always a week behind my buddies who hunt within a few miles of me. Ive shot 2 nice bucks on Nov 19, both of them I rattled in. I must say that I called in one of the biggest deer Ive seen in person on Halloween a few years ago, but for the most part the second week has been much better for me
Later so fawns are not born into cold weather (spring happens later) I think is natures logic.
Had a spike dogging a doe tonight doesn't that mean the rut has started.
