Alright so over the past few years I’ve been researching a lot into cull bucks and the reason for them not growing symmetrical horns or having a funky side, or both growing abnormally. Some of the research says it’s due to poor genetics other suggest a pedicle or skull injury or a previous wound. I was just curious to what you guys think here and I would like for you all to share some photos of cull bucks you’ve harvested or have on camera. I’m interested to hear your thoughts on taking them or watching them progress through their awkward year and seeing if time does heal all wounds. Thanks

If a buck does it for me, I shoot at it. If it doesn't, I don't. I have one property that would be great to manage. But I don't. We shoot what makes us happy. So if shooting a cull buck makes you happy, I say kill him. If he doesn't, find someone or a kid that would be tickled to have it.

Agreed. Deer change so much from one year to another too. We stopped trying to think that way many years ago and just let the deer do what they do. If they get you excited, shoot them....then it's culled LOL!

This one passed through and was really hoping he’d stay. I would’ve pulled the trigger on him simply for his uniqueness and the fact that I’ll most likely never see him again. Very rarely do I see the same bucks from year to year.
